A lifestyle blog

Hi,

I’m Ali!

Thank you for stopping by! A little bit about me if you don’t know me from my travel blog: travail-lux. I grew up in Wolfeboro, NH a small town on Lake Winnipesaukee. Yes, just like What about Bob, I played sports since I could walk and ended up playing Ice Hockey at Lake Forest College in Illinois.

In college I was a double major in Sociology & Anthropology + Communications, with a minor in business.

After graduating, I moved back east and worked for Victoria’s Secret & Michael Kors. I met my husband, Scott, through a friend in Chicago, and soon after meeting and then dating, I moved to Chicago with him after only 6 months of dating. We were engaged 3 months after that….and married 4 months after that!!! Call it a whirlwind, but when you know, you know!

We lived in Chicago with my old pup Juannie, maltipoo-bichon frise, and our puppy Charli, maltipoo, for 4 years.

Scott and I are both from the East Coast and we really do enjoy being closer to the ocean, so we ended up in Rowayton, CT a small beach town just north of Stamford.

After moving back east, I’ve enjoyed learning to play Tennis and Golf as well as becoming a Pure Barre instructor in Darien. It’s a lovely community, with a balance of country and city. It’s the perfect combination of NH and Chicago for me.

For years, I was never sure if I would have a kid and then my husband said he would really like a kid. So, we started this journey in August of 2019, and after many…many…many doctors I was finally able to get + sign that I was pregnant in February of 2020.

Now, we find ourselves in lockdown during this unprecedented time of Covid19 and I am picking up where I left off. Since I cannot travel at the moment (tear…tear). I’ve decided to write about lifestyle, my pregnancy, fitness and some fashion…of course. Once we are able to resume travel and normalcy I will try to connect the two and make it more fluid.

I’m really excited to start this new chapter and more so be in a community with feedback. I enjoy sharing my experiences and hearing from readers, so please always feel free to reach out to me.

xoxo
